“A motel. Cool.” Benny fell into step beside the man, jamming his hands into his jean pockets, thumbs hooked into the belt loops. The too-long sleeves of his sweater brushed his knuckles. “Can you—” He looked around. “—show me where that might be?”
He thought better of it a moment later as his eye caught on the man’s device. “Or,” Benny said, drawing out the word, “or you could tell me what that blinky thing is, ‘cause it looks way cool.”
